I never thought I'd be upgrading so soon after getting my new PC, but I'd like to give my gtx 750ti to a friend of mine as a wedding gift. A surprise wedding gift. He's been gaming on a dual core A4 or A6 Apu, and he thinks it's great, but it's not. Since I'll be giving him my 750ti, I'll need to replace it, and I was thinking I'd ask the good people at tomshardware for an opinion or two on the ones I have it narrowed down to. I already can't remember which manufacturers made which cards, so bear with me guys.

Gtx 950 2gb for $119
Gtx 960 2gb for $145
Gtx 960 4gb for $179
Gtx 970 4gb for $219
R9 380 2gb for $169
R9 380 4gb for $179
R9 380x 4gb for $189

Too expensive or not available:
Gtx 1060 for $249
Rx 480 4gb for $199

Thanks for your time everyone, I could really use the help! My wife doesn't want to go without a GPU for long, so I can't really afford to wait for anything, and my friend gets married tomorrow.

Thanks again, Patrick

Edit: forgot to post my specs, and I'm unwilling to buy a new PSU.

Core i3 6320 @ 3.9ghz
8gb corsair 2133mhz
Z170m pro4s
Gtx 750ti Asus strix OC'ed to 1485mhz/6600mhz
EVGA 80+ bronze 430w
Total power draw: 221w

As an owner as the GTX 970, I personally bought mine from Asus, and it is an aesthetically pleasing card, as well as being able to apply, I am unsure what you are using this for. If it is for games then the 970 runs games like GTA V on maximum settings and 60+ Fps (Or mine does at least).

I am also unsure whether or not the noise produced by the card is an issue. But the 970 Fans turn off while idle, therefore being silent. And they only turn on after a certain temperature range (60 degrees C), obviously this can be controlled in certain softwares, such as SpeedFan, or MSI Afterburner.

But personally, the 970 is a fantastic graphics card and have not regretted the purchase once :)

As of the AMD card, I am unsure. But the 960's and...

As of the AMD card, I am unsure. But the 960's and 950 will be similar to the 970, but with less features and less graphical potential. As well as not being able to run the games on maximum settings, but maybe medium-high settings. (The 960 4GB will be able to run higher than the 2GB 960 and 950 - But not as good as the 970)

If you have managed with the 750ti, which I also had before I upgraded to the 970, then any of them cards will do. But as an owner of the 970, I would highly recommend the purchase of that product. Here's the link to the one I purchased: https://www.asus.com/uk/Graphics-Cards/STRIXGTX970DC2OC4GD5/

Edit:

With your 430W Psu, you may have to get a 550W or maybe higher to ensure that the 970 can run to its full potential. But 550w is more than enough for your setup if you get the 970.

I may aswell add this. There is one issue with the 970, and because of its length and weight, the back corner away from the back of the case and motherboard can dip a little bit, but this has not caused any issues to me other than having to reseat the graphics card a few times before it works correctly. (I'm blaming this on the dip as I am unsure on what else it could be)

Hope I helped :)

Oh geez, I should've said! Lol I'm very much a gamer, and that list of specs is my first proper gaming PC. I'm talking fallout 4, dark souls 3, some MMOs, etc.

In that case, then the 970 would definitely run them games on close to maximum, if not maximum settings! :)

I have not found a game that the 970 struggles with yet!

Edit: Just re-read your post, and you're unwilling to buy a new PSU. I don't use too much when I use mine. I am unsure of how much it uses, but I guess it'll be in the 300s, maybe 400s? I don't really pay attention to it.

I did a little research, and with either of the more power hungry cards I mentioned ( the 970 and 390) I'll be using roughly 350 watts. Does this mean I'm in the clear? My PSU specs do say it has enough amps on the 12v rail for them too.

Well I ended up getting a 380x and a 600w PSU for $215 together. I figured it was the best deal, while being only a bit weaker than the 970, I get an awesome GPU and a PSU that will allow for better future upgrades.
