What do you think of this upgrade is it good for playing the latest games on high or ultra settings ????

My PC:
INTEL CORE I5 3340 3.1GHZ 6M CACHE
GIGABYTE GEFORCE GTX 960 WINDFORCE 2X OC 2 GB
KINGSTON HYPER X FURY BLUE 8GB 1600MHz

What i'm planning to upgrade to :
INTEL CORE I7 4770K 3.5GHz 8M CACHE
GeForce GTX 980 Ti Gigabyte XTREME 6GB Edition
KINGSTON HYPER X FURY BLUE 8GB 1600MHz (stay with the same RAM)

1) Avoid the GTX980Ti.

Get a GTX1070.

There are several reasons including the lack of asynchronous support (GTX1000 series has dynamic load balancing, preemption etc which helps in DX12 for FPS and prevent stuttering.) Several other reasons including VR support, support for good monitor with HDR, higher bandwidth.

2) i7-4770K is okay, but unless you save a lot of money I'd get a Skylake build with i5-6600K or i7-6700K (you'd need new system memory with DDR4)

3) 8GB is considered good enough but I'd consider getting 16GB at some point. Either way you want TWO STICKS (or four) but not a single stick.

4) You also need a new copy of Windows and new motherboard. So it's not so much an "upgrade" but most of the cost of a completely new PC.
