built a new pc with GTX 1070 from MSI and a z170a carbeon black MB LGA 1151 slot with intel core I7 6700k skylake lga 1151. found out the mobo was lighting up red where it says cpu error so i noticed the cpu wasn't installed so when i was about to insert it. i noticed the pins were bent. i called tech support and they confirmed it.. at this time i had not installed cpu yet. so the tech guy asked me to call customer service. when i did he claimed they dont offer warranty on pins that are bent. and i said well how can you ship me a mobo that is bent in the first place its not my fault is it :p any idea how to fix this without spending another trillion on a new motherboard? does the cpu even work :p i have no chance of getting it testet if they claim inserting cpu voids the warranty

You don't have a lot of options. If the manufacturer says "it's your fault" and you say "no it isn't", but you have no real proof then you are stuck. You will probably have to buy a new motherboard.

Was the static bag well sealed when you got it? Could this have been a returned motherboard that the seller (not the manufacturer) should be responsible for?
