So I just put together my first build ever with the follow specs:
Case: Corsair Obsidian Series 800d
Mobo: ASUS X99-A LGA 2011-v3 ATX Intel Motherboard
CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K Haswell-E 6-Core 3.3GHz LGA 2011-v3 140W
RAM: Kingston Technology HyperX FURY Black 32 GB Kit 2133 MHz CL14 DIMM DDR4
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1080
PSU: CORSAIR RMx Series RM850X 850W
along with the corsair H100i v2 liquid cooler, and some SSD thrown in too.

So I put it all together, turn it on and everything inside lights up, fans spin, but nothing comes up on my monitor. I've tried multiple monitors aside from my new one, ones that I know work. I have enough power so the PSU is not the issue, its not the mobo as this is the second one I've tried with the same issue. I've tried different slots for the RAM, tried just one stick, tried unplugging everything and plugging it in, everything is securely plugged in.

I don't have the mobo speaker yet, its coming in the mail. But even when I do get it according to the manual, a certain set of beeps is going to tell me there is a hardware failure... so I'm not sure how close that's gonna get me to an answer as I'm pretty confident that it is a hardware failure.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

yeah i tried both the dvi and the hdmi, i guess i had assumed it wasn't the GPU since it lights up and the fan spins. That's probably a poor assumption though, so i suppose i could just buy another gpu and if i still have the same problem i can return the second one and assume the first one (the one i have right now) isn't the issue.
