The non-modular cables should include 2x 6+2 pin PCI-E cables, you can see them in the middle of all the cables in the picture on that page. It also includes 2 modular PCI-E cables that are just 6-pin. You would need to use the non-modular cables.

Perfectly safe. It is a very common (if not preferred) configuration to use 6+2 pin cables.
