Cpu Temps Skyrocketing when gaming

Greetings! I have been having a problem over the past few days that I have only just noticed where my cpu has been jumping to extremely high temps (99C) when I try to play a game like Overwatch. This is a recent build that I only put together in May that has had no overclocking. I am using an i7-6700k and liquid cooling through the deepcool genome case. The temperatures then were good, idling sub thirty temperatures and not going over 50 when stressed. Now the temp is idling at about 50 sometimes going towards 60. I have already reapplied thermal paste using the pea sized method, and probably plan to do it again when I can get my hands on more and better paste. I have double checked the motherboard reading with AIDA64 and hwmonitor, and have felt the heat coming off so I know it isn't a sensor issue. Since the build is only a couple of months old, dust isn't really an issue. Could it be a voltage or pump issue?
Let me know if more info is needed.

Squaky Bubble,

Overwatch is a very CPU intensive game. I've watched this guy on YouTube talking about him playing Overwatch with very high temps for a few hours. I'd recommend putting the settings down a bit and seeing if that makes a difference.

make sure your cleaning the old paste properly with isopropyl alcohol and cotton swab and cooler

the pea size method is ok but i use a card personally as long as you dont lift up the card while spreading it you wont cause bubbles

also Grizzly Kryonaut paste is best

also make sure your case has sufficient cooling and airflow

what type of case do you have even if you have a water cooler if all the parts are hot it will increase temp of case

Thanks for the reply. I have tried tinkering with settings too, but that didn't seem to be the root of the problem. I just tried patching my LoL client and am now going towards 90 again.

I used isoprophyl alcohol and Q tips to clean the old paste off. Temps where I am right now are quite comfortable, and the airflow inside the case is sufficient. The case is the deepcool genome, and nothing inside the case is hot besides the cpu.
