I have an EVGA 550 G2 Power supply and an MSI Gtx 1070 Gaming graphics card. I have two 8 pin vga connections on my power supply and i have two different cables.
1. 8(6+2) pin
2. 6-pin + 8(6+2) pin

My graphics card requires an 8 pin and a 6 pin connector. Which cable(s) should i go with?

Solution
The 2nd one is designed so that you can run a single card from the cable, and use 2 of them for SLI or CF. The 1st one is meant for a single card that has a single plug in. The 2nd one is meant for your video card, but you would be more certain to get the required power if you used both, with 1 cable per connection.

really don't matter single card use the 6 pin in the 6 pin of the card on its cable and the 6+2 in the 8 pin of the card from the other and let the 6 pin part of it dangle to the side ??

just need to have both 6 and 8 pin of the card plugged in for the card to work properly thats the important thing in the end
