Hello, i'm looking to build a new gaming PC but wanted to know what to get.

Should i go for the i7 6700 & Gtx 960

or

I5 6600k & Gtx 970

I want to be able to SLI the 970 after a few months but can the i5 6600k handle it?

Thanks!

The i5 and 970 will beat the i7 and 960 in gaming easily. And yes an i5 6600k can handle any configuration of SLI cards without trouble. However, you would be better off waiting for the 1060 or RX 480 to become more available as it is a better card than the 970 for the same or less money. You can't SLI the 1060, but really SLI isn't well supported in a lot of games and it's not a very good way to spend money.

If you only gaming go for the i5 6600k with the 970 . If you also want to try other stuff like rendering go for the 6700 and 960 . If you only gaming you don't need all the extra power of the 6700 its overkill. The i5 will handle the 970 and the sli after that. Remember only gaming i5 more than gaming and extreme stuff i7. :D hope this helped.

Aha.

The i5-6600k only supports up to 16 PCIe lanes, which means only 2-way SLI compatible. ;)
