Hello

So I'll be the first to admit that I don't know a lot about computers. One of the things that has always bugged me though is how do I figure out what kind of graphics card is actually better than what I currently have. I was really hoping to just be able to upgrade my graphics card rather than have to change out the motherboard and all this other stuff I read about people doing because honestly I have no idea how to begin to even do that. Plus,my luck is horrid enough that I would end up blowing my computer up ;)

This is the computer I have http://

Solution
you appear to be using the onboard video so literally almost any dedicated GPU will be better than that.

However if the picture of the motherboard is correct it appears you do not have any PCI expansion ports on this board. That means it is impossible to install any dedicated GPU. So you'd have to do a total upgrade; CPU, motherboard to be able to use any dedicated GPU.

Okay this is easy, you can't add a video card to your computer you have no PCI-E 16x slot.

So unless you find a VGA PCI-E 1x card you have no way to add a discrete VGA card. They exist but they are not the cutting edge gaming GPUs you've been reading about. And since your system is a mini ITX you have to be very careful about it fitting and heat generation from it in your case.
