Black screen with white mouse

So I just built a new PC, this is my first time booting it up. My screen only shows a black background with a white mouse. I will explain everything as it went. I booted my PC for the first time, and I heard one electronic sounding beep, after that, it seemed as it turned off and then on again. My screen has been all black all this time. When it boots up, it stays on. i start wondering why nothing is showing up on my screen, so I switch the cable from the motherboard to the GPU, (Its a DVI Cable), this time, it only shows black screen, with a white mouse. I don't know what I should do now. Help please..

EDIT: It says "No Signal" when I connect the DVI cable to the motherboard.

Ther very first time you boot a PC you should enter the BIOS and set them to the proper settings then restart.

When you say a white mouse do you mean the white arrow? a flashing cursor? A furry white rodent? :pt1cable:

IF there is nothing on the HDD then you will get a black screen and a flashing cursor. This is why you need to enter the BIOS and select a boot device and install the OS. Please also give a list of teh system specs so we may have a better understanding of the equipment you need help with. Thanks :)
