Just ran into a weird problem. I recently built a system for work. Configuration is as below.
Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 7
Intel i7 6700K
G.Skill ripjaws V 16gb 3000mhz
Intel 535 480GB SSD
Cooler Master V850 (I know its overkill but i'm planning to purchase new graphics card in near future)
Palit GTX 650 1GB DDR5
Few days ago,
Some portable hard drives and my android phone stopped connecting via usb. It stopped getting power at all. So I know it wasn't a problem of drivers or something. FYI, Other portable drives and flash drives worked fine at this point.
Few days later
Everytime I insert a flash drive to USB3.1 port on the back of the motherboard, Computer restarts. Still don't know why! And my sata drives started connecting and disconnecting frequently.
Now
When I turn on the computer, It starts for split of second and turns back off.
2 led on mobo (eco and oc) turns on but debug led display doesn't show any codes. It doesn't even start for that matter.
What I did
1. removed graphics card
2. disconnected all sata drives ( I have 3 )
3. Removed RAM as well but it doesn't beep which I expected it would
4. now only psu connection mobo have is, CPU power and MOBO power
Still turns off in split of second. I can't figure out what is wrong. Any help or suggestion would be appreciated.
