I have an Acer Veriton X498G that keeps restarting over and over again. It used to not have this problem but all of a sudden it showed up and was doing it randomly and i was able to still use it and it continually got worse and I would occasionally get a blue screen. Then recently its so bad I cant even use my computer and it just repeatedly turns on for 2 seconds not even enough for the screen to turn on then turns off over and over again. Also ran a memory diagnostic tool test and it said it was a hardware problem which makes me wonder if it is maybe the power supply unit or the graphics card.

Specs:

Processor: Intel core i7 2.93 ghz 64-bit

Power Supply: LiteOn PS-5221-9 AE 220-240 Watt

Ram: 8gb

Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 5450

Does it matter what stick of ram k leave? Also so you mean completely take out the graphics card?

Well what we are trying to do is to identify the part of the PC that may be causing all this trouble. It does not matter which ram stick you keep just use one stick at a time thats all. And also remove your GPU completely(use integrated GPU). If your PC runs fine then start plugging in the other components one by one each time trying to find which is at fault. Do this test with the other stick of ram too. If its a hardware fault it will definitely show up. If possible you should also try running your PC on on another PSU too.

before trying those even though ya already did sometimes its just a issue of clearing cmos and pulling the bartery and using the cmos jumpers could be bios related glitch or hang the cuasing it to restart.
I always try cmos and reseating ram and video cards tliek they stated as well before I try or barrow another power supply or ram from a friend.

I took the gpu out and the computer turned on and didn't turn off but made a continual beeping noise. Also was not able to get any display in my monitor and the mouse and keyboard wouldn't work.

try unistallign video driver and reinstalling
theres a clen uninstall small program for video drivers online just do a web search .

if problem persists fter ya reinstall graphics driver verify game catch or repir install the game .

you can also try reinstalling c++ distrubuteables or reinstall direct x runtime .

Might be power supply issue since acting so erratic. If ya know someone that has a power supply test to test it with ide try that. Least ya would know all the voltages are correct. Even with a tester a power supply can test fine but under load is a different story. The capacitors of a power supply lose wattage over time regardless of heat ext but heat can make em age faster. And the more ya use it if ya left it on all the time ext.so if it is the power supply cause it power wattage or problem under load then just get a new power supply I usually got about 200 wattage over what I need since I usually leave my system on all the time for update or running a ftp while away.
You can use a extreme power supply calculator online if ya unsure what size power supply to replace it with.

If it ain't power supply could be main board going bad or something at this point ya stuck testing it one piece of hardware at a time. Like see if ya can test your ram in a friend's system and or your CPU if they happen to have a board that supports your cpu

Still having the same problem. Got the blue screen again. Running the memory diagnostics tool test at the moment. Thinking I'm going to just order a new psu.

Make sure ya get one large enough for everything your running if not sure try extreme power supply calculator. Ya can fine it on a web search put in your CPU vicars amount of fans ect.. hit calculate after ya enter everything and should give ya the wattage size ya need

It's acting so erratic that it problem is the PSU if ya had it running fine for two weeks . And CPU temps ect were fine . Problem your problem if a new power supply front fix it the got to test board vid card ect in different machine and track down the bad part . That's just the way it goes sometimes
