what does this hardware-software actually do ? its purpose ?

my pc usage is excel-word-pdf-email-upload/download to/from a database 95% of the time

i don't game ever. i may watch an mp3/mp4 vidio rarely. i listen to my recorded music files rarely

i don't ever know if i'm using graphics media (or accelerator)

my feeling is that it is primarily for gamers, action gamers

the hardware card is installed; software is installed, but i never know when and if ever it is running, functional
i never see in the win-task-manager that it is running - not as an application, not as a process
unless it is one of the many svchost.exe, ctfmon.exe, or 10 other .exe files that are always running

can i uninstall intel-graphics-media accelerator and not have t pay the devil for being frugal ?

and when/if i find i need to reinstall it how will i do it ? where is it ? what are the names of the various files ?

or is that a russian roulette action ?

thnx, john

can i uninstall the software ?

what is the point, the purpose, the function of the hardware-software combination

Solution
If you like your system displaying an image on the screen, leave that alone. It's the video controller.

Unless you have issues with the computer don't look for things to delete or disable unless you want to cause issues.

howdy
thnx
yours is the only response so far
but when i read it i determined it is the best, not just "better" (no comparision to make that statement)

what told me it was the best is you told me to stop looking for things to delete/disable !

my pc is 15yrs old. windows went from, not in order, millennium, xp, vista, and something older than them

i bought a new mac mini and could not adjust to its system (capitan)

windows is engrained in my brain and i could not use the TOY
i gave it to my son-in-law
gave because i don't sell crap

you gave me the best advise anyone could have
i have been told i overthink too much
absolutely true

i just wanted this to last, possibly outlast me
