If you are lucky, you'll see 90% of the performance of just plugging the monitor into your card with the adapter I gave you a link to! If you're unlucky (some games don't like the Virtu system), you'll see 0% performance because the game will refuse to even run.
1) You do not need to connect a graphics card to access it or use GPGPU functionality
2) You MUST connect to the card if you want to use it for graphics acceleration.
3) There is only one exception Lucid Virtu software on select motherboards. It WILL decrease graphics performance, and the GTX460 is already slow as hell to begin with!
4) Just get a DVI-I to VGA adapter. In fact, most graphics cards come with one! should look something like http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1001029-REG/startech_dvivgamfbk_black_dvi_to_vga.html

Not looking to spend an extra 5$ but i will spend it if i see no boost or any pfr boost

1) That game is old as hell and is highly CPU limited.
2) If you don't have a Z68 or Z77 motherboard you cannot use Virtu
3) Just use the damn DVI-I to VGA adapter I told you about. Stop making it harder than it needs to be
