Should I Delid CPU?

So I have an i5 4690k OC'd to 4.0 GHz and it runs a bit too hot for my liking. It runs around 60-70 celsius and it gets my case a bit hot in which I don't like. I have the Hyper 212 EVO and i'm using Artic Silver 5. I am planning to get the coollaboratory liquid pro metal thermal paste or however you call it. Should I delid my CPU and replace the thermal paste inside there as well or should I just do the outside?

Solution
Some things you should know:

1) Your CPU will not make your case any less hot. It will still put out the same amount of heat. The temperature of the CPU will be a little lower, likely, because it will more effectively get that heat out of the CPU and into your case.

2) 60-70c is actually pretty low for that CPU. Many have theirs running at 80-90c, which will not harm it either. Throttling is at 100c and shutdown to protect the CPU is at 130c - you're still almost 60c away from shutdown temperatures.

3) DO NOT USE LIQUID METAL WITH YOUR HYPER212. Part of the baseplate is aluminum. Liquid metal (which contains gallium) will destroy the aluminum. It will crumble and fall apart. Google it, YouTube it. It's safe to put under the...

Liquid Pro is semi-permanent so make sure you really want it lol. That being said you will only get 2-3c lower than AS5. You can delid it for best results. Most people just replace the paste below the IHS with liquid pro and glue the IHS back on. Than will yield 10-15c lower is some cases.

Personally i would just get a better cooler, the EVO is amazing for $20 but it doesn't do the same job as something like a Notcua or a AIO cooler.

Thanks for the reply, Noctua and AIO coolers are pricey for my liking. Considering I can barely even afford a water bottle.

Also, how do they glue it back?

I honestly would not recommend you do anything to it. Temperature is just a number until it causes throttling, which it is clearly not in your case. Lowering it will not do you any good. Your CPU will not dump any less heat into your case or room, you'll simply have a lower number.

Thanks for the response,

That sucks, because sometimes my case feels like it's on fire. specifically around where the CPU is. Also, sometimes it gets so bad that some of the heat gets to the front of my case. I guess it's a combination of my Graphics card as well because it's not a reference card.

60-70C is a decent temp considering it's summer and you're using a hyper 212. I really would just avoid it, it isn't really worth it at all. If your cpu starts hitting 80 or so then I would swap to another cooler and not delid your processor. It's a mod that will void your warranty, and you risk cutting some of the traces on the chip. If you want cooler temps You need to make sure your case is cycling cool are into the case and hot air out as fast as possible. So just invest into some Good quality static pressure fans to help move the air. If your room is hot then get higher rpm fans that can make up for it.
