Hello, I have a modest home built desktop with an Asus H97M-E motherboard. Using SpeedFan and Speccy I found my motherboard is operating at 113°C! Ouch! I'd appreciate it if someone could give me an idea what is wrong. Many thanks.

I tried including a copy of the Speedfan report but I don't think it worked. I don't know how to post photos.

Solution
Yeah, readings are not always right, just look at voltages, most of the time you have to wander if your machine is running at all while real tolerances allow for less than 5 +/- % or it would switch off.

Against my better judgement I took your advise and put my finger on the chipset. Instead of a roasted finger i had a warm finger. The chipset was very "touchable". I assume this means you were right and I got false readings. What worried me was 2 programs said the same thing. Many thanks for your help. I can breathe easy with 10 good fingers.
