Ive been using the stock cpu cooler on my AMD FX-6300 3.5ghz for the last 2 1/2 years. I haven't changed the thermal paste or anything, apart from dusting it off. My idle temps are 50C Core and about 60-65C for my CPU. Max temps ive seen when gaming are about 70-75C core and 80-83C CPU. These temps are from Speedfan. Would a Hyper 212 EVO help in terms of performance and heat as well as keep quiet? Thanks

Only if it thermal throttles. assuming it does, since the FX processors shouldn't exceed 70c. 50c for idle? not good. yes a Hyper 212 would be great for cooling that CPU but you can try cleaning it up and changing the thermal pasteand see if it helps. also make sure you have good airflow in your case :)
