Hello

My PC (Windows 7 64 Bit) will not connect to the internet all of a sudden. It stays in an "identifying connection" loop on the cabled connection. Wifi will connect but similarly will not allow internet access.

My ipconfig /all reads:

All other computers on the network run fine

Things I have tried:
Restarting router
Changing ethernet cable
Using a USB ethernet connection
Removing ethernet drivers and rebooting for them to reinstall (there are no X or ! or ? on the device manager)
Unchecking ipv6
Removing Bonjour
Malware scan

ipconfig /release throws an error "no operation can be performed on Local Area Connection while it has its media disconnected"

Any help gratefully received.

Since both wired & WiFi are similarly affected, it's likely to be the router rather than the PC/laptop.

First try restarting the router (unplug it, wait 15 secs, plug it back in.).

Wait for router to re-establish internet connection (all status lights stop flashing) before trying to use it.

Bear in mind that many consumer-priced routers made today seem to have a short lifespan in my experience.
If all else fails, you may have to replace the router with one that's higher up the price scale for greater longevity and reliability (eg a Billion router like mine, or a Draytek).
