Is there anyway to check if cpu isn't working w/o an additional computer? Can you check it at Best Buy? :)

I'm pretty sure that my i5-6500 is dead is there anyway I can check it w/o using another computer? Can I check at Best Buy? :)

A local computer repair shop might be able to test it for you.
You really need to install the cpu in a known good motherboard to tell.
A failure if a intel chip is rare.
They do have a 3 year warranty so you could RMA the cpu if you were convinced it was dead.
I might suspect that it is more likely that you damaged one of the socket pins.
Look at them carefully to see if any were damaged. Such damage is not covered by warranty on any motherboard.
