I/O shield not lining up with motherboard even with the standoffs lining up

I have the Z170A GAMING M7 and I just can't get the motherboard properly lined up with the I/O. The I/O itself is properly installed (secure on all sides) but all the ports don't properly fit through the I/O shield even with the standups on the case matching. Only the audio connectors fit through but the left half doesn't. I included pictures below:

Try posting a picture of the case inside (board removed).

with the mb out look at the inside of the case. mke sure the io shield made a pop when pressed in. i have it look fine but was not in all the way on a build one time. on the io shield make sure the metal tabs not holding one of the ports back.

the io shield not in all the way it should be flush. you may need a wood dowl or a screw driver to push the other edge in to where the io sheild will snap in.

I heard the "pop" when installing the I/O shield and i'm sure its securely in on all sides. The small metal tabs on the hdmi and bios flashback usb ports were pushed up so they wouldn't hold the ports back (as I read they are not needed in the installation).

If removing the top left standoff, does the board fit the I/O shield? It looks to me that the issue is related to the top standoffs. Check their height.
