I have this power supply and wondering what should the red switcher is referring to? after installing my new gpu (G1 gigabyte 970 gtx) the pc wont boot past bios.. an engineer of ours said the board which is acer 2012 that has an old bios wgich can not be updated is the problem.. so May the switcher be my problem? Or may it be the board? Hope i get some hel0

The red switch is for selecting whether the input is 115 volts or 230 (though the labeling might say 110 and 220 or 120 and 240 instead). It's also a sign that the psu is outdated and/or poor quality, because newer good quality psus can handle a range of 100-240V input (or sometimes 90-264V), and don't need such a switch.
