Printing only pictures

My printer is only printing pictures but when I try to print up documents etc that contains words all I get is a blank sheet of paper?

Check to make sure your printer actually has black ink.

When you self test the printer, all colors print properly?

yes I can print images no matter the color but I cant print up words

That isn't what I meant. Most printers have a self test mode that will print all colors and text examples. Does yours print properly via the self test?
