So i just tried to do a bit of tweaking on my amd overdrive, but everytime i seem to press enable my pc freezes and a wierd loud noice is coming from my headset, even with the deafault settings on it crashes? Any fix for this?!

Solution
You have a 4+1 phase VRM with no cooling on it, consider yourself lucky if your FX 8350 runs at stock speeds without trouble. Overclocking is pretty much out of the question on that motherboard. If you need more CPU performance you're going to have to spend some money, either on a new AM3+ board with better power phases to allow you to overclock (which won't help all that much in gaming anyway) or switch to Intel.

Cpu: Amd fx-8350
Gpu: Asus geforce strix 960 4gb
16 gb ram
Motherboard: msi 760ga-p43 fx
232 hardrive

If i where to upgrade to intel, what would be the best for high end gaming?

I don't think your mobo has enough phases to let you overclock your CPU. I can't get the specs (504 gateway) but I'd bet it doesn't, chipset is old AMD 760G
What about your cooler?

Gaming wise, and even normal use wise, FX are no good at all. Get any i5 or if you have money, a i7 will do for the years to come.
