Plan on overclocking my i5-6500 with a Msi z170a gaming m5 mobo. Was wondering what type of cooling should I use, air or aio, and what do you guys reccomend that has a clearance of about 160 mm. :)

Solution
-1 hard to install (i.e. instructions, have to remove motherboard if you cannot access the back)
-1 aesthetically ugly
-1 pretty noisy at 36 dba (compared to competition who have fans at 25dba)
-1 pretty outdated (performance wise, there are other competitors like cyrorig h7. just look up 1 review)
+1 strong reputation. has been around for a while
+1 good entry leveled aftermarket cooler
+1 it's $20 on my craigslist. i guess convenient if u can buy it locally or buy it used for $20?

it's not bad. it's not great. but it fits the bill. that's my opinion. if u can spend more, for noise/looks/ease of installation/better packaging/3 year warranty vs 2 year (coolermaster).... for cyrorig's h7 $35 vs 212 evo's $30... i dunno what else to...

depends on your budget and preference on brand :)

i'm sure that should give you a start.

considering you have a gaming motherboard but a locked i5 is interesting. but that makes me think you're budget conscious. I suppose you want a low level of noise, so cryorig H7 at $35, noctua nh-d15s at $85, and cryorig a80 at $125 are pretty good.

p.s. if you need a recommendation, specify your budget next time. cheers
