I have recently put together my first PC build.

Specs:
Case: Corsair carbide series 100R Mid-tower case
MOBO: Gigabyte-Z170X-UD3
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 970
CPU Fan: Cryorig M9
RAM: 8gb Crucial
Memory: 2 TB Hard drive
Memory 2: 120 GB SSD for startup
Core: Intel i5-6600k
Old PSU: XTR 550W Gold
New PSU: CS750M

The main problem that keeps happening is that when I try to start the system, it will start for approximately 20 seconds then shut down. There is no video BUT LEDs do light up and the top right LED stays at 55.
If I let it go after attempting to start up it will continue to start for 20 seconds again and again and again :( it is rather sad to watch

the same problem occurred with new PSU and I did do the paperclip test with my new PSU so I know it is not that( I think).
There is no video and I could use some help. I already have looked at this guide: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/261145-31-perform-steps-posting-post-boot-video-problems

No smoke which is good.

Solution
Bad new is you are looking at 1 of 3 things being bad, motherboard, cpu, or possibly ram, but as i said earlier unlikely both sticks arrived bad..

seems it could be the motherboard I think which is stinky. I just checked on crucial's site and they are compatible they say. The model number for the 4gb sticks is ddr4-2133 udimm i believe.

EDIT: THINK I FOUND A LIL' SUCKER THAT IS BENT. Attempting to fix with hair tweezers now

Update: Fix did not change a thing, was worth the try but still got error code 55.

Do you have the SSD and HDD plugged into the Mobo already? If you do, try it with just the SSD. Any way to get into bios?
Also, I hope you reapplied the thermal paste onto the back of the CPU after removing it

Looking up some stuff, are you sure you have the right ram for the CPU and mobo? DD4 and not ddr3 right?

EDIT: Also, I have the same PSU. Please ensure you have the 8 pin eps/atx12v connected into the CPU, NOT the 6+2 pci-e cable!
the 8 pin cable is the 2nd cable slotted with the 24 pin.

Yup, they were plugged in and I tried each separately. Same error. Thermal paste was reapplied so no worries on that! It is ddr4 for the ram and the site did indeed say they were compatible.

Response to edit: PSU is connected properly

My guess would be the motherboard, but did you try both sticks one at a time in all four slots or just slot 1? Also try removing the mobo from the case and breadboarding it. Might also try unplugging the PSU, removing the CMOS battery, and then pressing and holding the power button for a minute or two and then replacing the battery and plugging the PSU back in to clear the CMOS.
