I bought a brand new laptop today for work and gaming, which I like a lot, but it seems to be under-performing a lot. I tried to run bf4 and it cant play over 30fps. I tried updating my nvidia graphics driver, but that didnt seem to work, i've only been playing on 1920x1080, something my old pc could easily handle with lower specs on the same game and graphics settings. I updated my pc and restarted everything too, but it seems to be underperforming for the high level specs and advertisement. Any ideas whats wrong or what i can do to fix it? Thanks
Specs:
Model: ASUS UX501VW "Zenbook Pro"
GTX960M GPU
Core i7-6700HQ CPU
16 GB DDR4
512 GB NVMe SSD
4k 15.6 glossy display with touchscreen

Solution
It's like a 1080p picture that's displayed at a 4K monitor. The monitor will always display 4K. It's the 1080p picture that's scaled to 4K. And displaying 8 million pixels is not an easy task. The same with games. The game is processed at 1080p, but the screen still displays at 4K.

Thanks, brought down my display res to 1920x1080 and it seems to have fixed it. for some reason i was under the impression i had already tried that and it didnt work, but i guess i hadnt. now i can run bf4 on ultra at 50 fps. now i feel stupid.

Now the fps still seems to slowly be declining, but im assuming thats due to heat am i right?
I've already ordered a cooling pad
