I recently tested my friends GPU that he thought was broken on my system (500w PSU) and built in early 2014. The computer did not boot when I tested the GPU and I immediately removed it.

Now my onboard DVI does not work nor does my motherboard splash screen. I run multiple monitors from my onboard intel cpu and only my HDMI is working now. The monitor connected through DVI is detected by the computer but there is no display (Check signal cable on monitor). The monitor and cord both work (I've tested on another system).

I've tried everything including lowering resolution and through jumper method entering bios (the only way I can get into bios) and setting IGFX as display over PCI-E. Does anyone have any ideas? My PCI-E slot still works as I have some extra USB card attached.

I'm thinking my mobo will need to be replaced, the no DVI I can probably live with but not being able to get into BIOS due to no splash screen really bothers me.

Also fast boot is not enabled. Still having this problem after resetting to BIOS default. I don't see how updating bios could be a solution Is there a short somewhere on my DVI maybe?

In some cases by default.

If your motherboard also has a 15 pin D sub Vga monitor cable output.
The bios display can revert to that as the default display port for IGFX display out put.

Of course it depends on your motherboard if it also comes with that video output port on the motherboard.
If you had listed the brand of motherboard, and its model number it would of helped.

But as said, if it does have a 15 pin analogue vga output then the bios splash screen should be displayed on that port.
And also the bios setup menus.
