I've been trying to diagnose what's going on with my computer recently and would like to present some new information.
i7 5820k (stock ghz, stock voltage, 3.3 / 1.0)
corsair h110i gtx
Yesterday, out of sheer "luck" my idle temp went back down to 33c.
Today, my idle temp was 65c.
On average over the past week, my idle temperature has been 45-55c.
The load/ambient temperature/etc. is all the same.
When I saw 65c today I was disgusted/annoyed and just turned off my PC for a bit. When I came back to start it up, I got stuck at the windows splash screen like I would if I had a bad overclock. At this time, I was on STOCK ghz and STOCK voltage. I held the button down on my PC and started it again, Windows loaded this time. Sitting here now @ 51c idle.
I don't understand what could be causing such fluctuation in temperatures and why I would fail at the Windows splash screen with no OC whatsoever. When I first had the PC built, I had a 4.3 ghz overclock @ 1.28v and idle'd at 27.5c. The fans/radiators are clear of dust/debris.
