Hello.

Wonder if anyone can help me.

I was updating my GPU the other day, when everything just froze. Had to hard reset. It kept happening, and I tried a clean install, even manually uninstalled everything from nVidia and the issue persists.

Between the freezing, there have been two BSOD:

Video memory management internal
System thread exception not handled

At one point after rebooting I got an error saying that nvspcap64.dll was not a valid Win32 application. It did not crash that time.

Laptop:

Lenovo Z500

Windows 10 home
nVidia GeForce 740m
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3612QM CPU @2.10 Ghz
16GB RAM

Thanks for the time.

I don't know how to fix, but try going into device manager and looking under display adopters doe your card. If you had an integrated card before your new one then you will have to disable that and enable your new card.

Managed to finish the driver installation after completely removing everything from nvidia using a program called Display Driver Uninstaller.

Still freezes when accessing Direct3d. Getting pretty desperate, as I have a project to complete in 3 days. Any advice would be appreciated greatly.

Got really desperate and installed a windows 8.1 BIOS driver. Seems to have fixed the issue, not completely sure since I'm now scared to reboot, hehe.

Only one thing is odd, only GPU-Z shows my GPU temperature now, realtemp, openhardware and a couple others have no GPU temperature entry.
