Hello folks! :)

I'm planning on getting a setup with i5-6600k or i7-6700.

Setup with i5:
MOBO: ASUS Z170 PRO GAMING
CPU: Intel Core i5-6600k 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo
RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA G2 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
GPU: GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1070 G1 GAMING
Case: Corsair Graphite 230T Windowed- Black

Setup with i7:
MOBO: ASUS H170 PRO GAMING
CPU: Intel Core i7-6700 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor
RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA G2 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
GPU: GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1070 G1 GAMING
Case: Corsair Graphite 230T Windowed- Black

I've heard that the i7 is better at rendering, video editing and stuff like that, and they are about the same level at gaming. I'm both editing (not at a high level) and gaming, but if I overclock the i5, how much would I be able to push it (approximately). Would it be better than a i7 at gaming? Also, is it a big difference between i5 and i7 when rendering and editing?

In my country, the i7 is about $15 more expensive, than a i5 with a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo.

Thanks in advance! :)

Yeah they'll be identical in gaming even at stock speeds. It can be a toss up when you overclock the i5 against a stock i7. Rendering can utilize the extra cores but if your i5 is clocked to over 4.0 then you can achieve same overall processing power because of the clock. So while the i7 can process data efficiently across 8 threads, the i5 can churn out jobs just as fast using four threads because it churns up the jobs quicker on each core.

If you were comparing an overclocked i7 to and OC i5 then yeah, get the i7. In your case I'd save the money because the OC will future proof you better for 2-3 years from now when you need more juice per core for modern games and GPUs

i7 6700 and i5 6600k when it comes to gaming performance they are just identical so if you are willing to buy the 6600k wich dont come with stock cooler then you may want to consider the i7 6700 it comes with stock cooler and hyperthreading with base clock it is much powerful for everything. but it is overkill for gaming. I would personally recomend the i5 6600 and buy the gtx 1080 you can play at ultra settings without problem. Frame per second/fps is the gpu's work better gpu better fps. the i5 6600 wont bottleneck it, it a super good strong cpu.
