Hey there people of toms hardware.
I'm looking for a new motherboard with a 1150 socket and I have seen some candidates but I'm not sure if I need intel rapid storage technology for a hot swap bay.
and if someone knows a good motherboard for around 100 euros I will be happy to chek it out :D

Pretty much the pick of the litter in that case! If you want to use Intel's chipset RAID, stick to H97 or Z79 chipset. Its all about a few things really, since you can't overclock that CPU: (1) What size board do you want and (2) What features & how many of each do you want. No easy answer really.

What kind of CPU are you putting in? This makes a big difference. No, you don't need RST for a hot swap bay. All RST really gives you is drivers/control if you use the Intel chipset RAID capability. If not I wouldn't even install it in windows.
