I recently got a MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X and today I´ve noticed that the backplate gets really hot during load. I have to guess but it´s 65-75 degrees at least. Is this normal? Can this damage my card?

Solution
@Lukas, I don't personally think it's bad. Matter-of-fact, if I were in your shoes, I'd be happy that the backplate was doing such an efficient job at removing heat from the GPU and it's associated components. If you're really concerned, then run HWmonitor (http://filehippo.com/download_hwmonitor/) and check your CPU and GPU temps while playing the same game. But honestly I wouldn't be concerned.

Thank you Rob for your reply! :)

Temperatures seem to be good gaming-wise (70° on both gpu and cpu). I was worried that my card might has design erros or something because I thought cpu backplates only serve cosmetic and stabilization purposes. Good to know that it´s fine. Thank´s again.
