New build-

Asus Z170-AR
Corsair TX650w PSU
Core i5 6600k
Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000 2x8GB

This is as far as I need to go because the comp won't post and display is black.
Q-LED for CPU blinks red very quickly on then off, then the Q-LED for RAM stays lit solid. I hit MemOK and it cycles but then returns to solid on. I replaced RAM with PNY Anarchy 2400mhz 1.2v CL15 DDR4 and same thing. Tried 1 stick, 2 stick, and all 4 DIMMs.

Any ideas?

If the RAM_LED is constantly lit, then you have a DIMM problem. Maybe due to contamination in the DIMM slot or it could even be the PSU.
Did you also check the ASUS QVL list to check if your DIMMs have been tested in conjunction with your MB.?

Check all your DIMMs with MemTest86+ from a USB stick to eliminate that possibility.
If all DIMMs test Ok then Its down to MB or CPU.

So I'm a goof and I wasn't pushing hard enough, so the RAM (including the 2nd set of sticks I bought from Best Buy to confirm!) wasn't fully inserted into the DIMM. I tried again after resetting CMOS jumper, and now both sticks are working and I was able to boot fully. Let this be a lesson to all. Check your connections first!

The QLED that was list was the RAM QLED. The Z170-AR doesn't have codes, at least not that I could see anywhere.

Also, how would I run MemTest86+ if the computer won't even post? I couldn't get to BIOS unless I was able to get past that RAM QLED.

Bottom line, problem solved. Human error. Thanks everyone!!

Same thing happening to me. Do I just put them back into the slots and clear the CMOS?

I didn't clear CMOS, just reboot and it posted and I was off to the races...
