Best cpu upgrade for my build

Hello,

Recently upgraded my rig with the following stats:

CPU i5 - 4430 3.00ghz (not upgraded)
strix gtx 1070
16gb corsair vengeance 2400mhx ddr3
evga 650w g2 gold rated PSU
Gigabyte Z87 HD3 Motherboard socket1150 (not upgraded)

Now I am looking to upgrade the CPU...Would you recommend for example the i7 4790k? as I am planning to do some OC...(ill be careful)

Also, would any upgrade in CPU increase my 3d mark scores?

I also don't reccomend upgrading from that cpu right now. If you really want to upgrade, I would wait for Kaby Lake (a minimum gain vs Skylake most likely, but still a gain) or Zen later this year . You can even wait for Cannonlake that is due in 2H 2017 (I suggest doing that).
The i5 you have now can limit the potential of the gtx 1070 only in very cpu intensive games like Total War: Warhammer.

your motherboard isn't amazing for overclocking, if you're looking to upgrade your cpu then I would advice to just upgrade to skylake while you're at it, Unless you plan on streamlining while playing CPU intensive games like Fallout 4 or GTA V then you wont see a noticeable difference between an i5 or the i7 just FYI.
