I'm looking for a processor, specifically from intel, I want the processor to be from the x99 chipest, 2011-3 socket, it should be overclockable up to 4+ghz. Another thing to consider is that I render videos ONLY at 1080p 60fps... I'm looking at the 5960x but i think it's a little bit overkill since I only play in 1080p and I think that those extra cores will not really help me. oh! and almost forgot to mention this, the processor should be at least quadcore and octacore. I want the processor to be able to handle ultra settings at 1080p 60fps! here are the games that I play: rust, the forest, metro last light redux, metro 2033, redux, csgo, battlefield 4, witcher 3, project cars, dirt rally, gta 5, far cry 3, far cry primal, far cry 4 and etc. all of the latest titles in games! here are the programs I use for productivity, handbrake, sony vegas pro 13, adobe after effects cs6, adobe premiere pro cc, adobe photoshop cs6, dxtory, obs! The processor should be solid when it comes to performance and the processor must have fast render times!

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

Long story short:
-6700K will run most games at higher FPS (faster cores).
-5960x/6800k/6900k/what have you will...
Which is more important to you; gaming or rendering?
For gaming, a I7-6700K will be superior because of the faster cores.
As of 5/2016
What percent can get an overclock at a somewhat sane 1.40v Vcore.

I7-6700K
4.9 2%
4.8 17%
4.7 59%
4.6 93%
4.5 100%

For rendering or other apps where all threads can be completely utilized a 2011-3 processor with 6 or 8 cores will be better.
But, of necessity, the thermal limits will inhibit the individual core speeds.

My take is that one can tolerate longer run times than it is to have any gaming delays due toslower cores.

editing and rendering is both important to me!

-5960x/6800k/6900k/what have you will render/edit things faster (more physical cores). You'd probably be ok with a 6-core for these purposes, honestly.
