Laptop wont load Windows

Recently replaced hard drive and updated RAM- trying to load a new copy of Windows 7 on Gateway NE71B laptop.. I can not get past the Windows Startup Page.. Freezes every time! Any fixes?

try booting into Safemode, rapidly hit F8 after powering the laptop on until you reach the boot menu options and chose safemode, see if you can get to windows.
try removing the new ram and see if it loads, it may be a bad ram.
