ok so its pretty simple what card is the most optimized in performance what card has the best drivers and which card has (if it eaven has) the best oc support program.

thx guys.

The MSI Gaming is better than the original EVGA SC ACX 2.0 card which some reported problems with (like coil whine). However, EVGA updated to a newer variant of that as I referenced above, the SSC ACX 2.0+ model. It is better than MSI's offering right out of the box as the link I provided also shows. And overclocking headroom just puts it on a whole other level. With that said, the MSI Gaming is still and excellent card. if you cannot find an SSC ACX 2.0+ variant, then get the MSI card.

And this is all assuming you aren't considering looking at an AMD 480 which is better than a 970 and/or it's priced out of your budget where you live.

No contest. The primary difference between EVGA SC series and everybody else is that the SC series has historically been just a "reference PCB w/ nice cooler". MSI, Asus Gigabyte, etc all offer substantial component upgrades (chokes, power circuitry, VRM, advanced chop cooling, etc). Between the two, quality and performance wise, the MSI in a heartbeat. You can see the difference detailed here in great detail:

Read pages 3 and 4, especially the bottom third of each page to see how they differ.

You really won't need to read the performance comparison as after you read the design differences, how they perform relatuve to one another will make the results obvious before you read them.

You may have noticed that the SC version had a deficient;y designed cooler where 1 of the 3 heat pipes missed the GPU... the SSC version corrects this deficiency but the other deficiencies noted in the review (VRM, componentry, chip cooling etc.) remains the same

They all use the same drivers

MSI has the better OC App and OCs better.... hits 1500+ Hz Boost clock in just about every review

If budget allows, I would suggest moving to a 1060. I'd include the 480 except for the fact that the reference designs are problematic and the "fix" apparently isn't stopping this:

http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-3133544/480-blew.html

I would therefore recommend a 480 only if you are considering a 8 pin AIB (non-reference) card. However, the AIB 480 cards cards are more expensive then the AIB 1060s, and with both cards overclocked, the 1060s are 24% faster than the 480.

1) The EVGA SSC ACX 2.0+ (the last and best factory overclocked model that's not a FTW card from EVGA) is the best. The model number is 04G-P4-3975-KR. It has an updated heat pipe design and added power phases for more stability in overclocking vs. the original SSC ACX 2.0 variant. I have two of these GPUs in SLI and they overclock to 980 performance without even sweating. Here's a link to a review of it. Note just out of the box how much faster the EVGA card is compared to MSI's factory overclocked Gaming variant:

http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2015/05/08/evga-geforce-gtx-970-ssc-acx-2-0-review/1

2) MSI Afterburner is the best overclocking utility out there, as it has been for years now. EVGA's Precision X is okay, but I still prefer, and tech websites still prefer, Afterburner.

Hey,
While I tend towards Nvidia in general, for the BUDGET I suggest getting an after market:

RX-480 8GB
(8-pin, 2-fan card... when prices drop)

The NVidia cards prior to GTX1000 don't have asynchronous hardware support so for DX12 gaming they will:
a) Lose performance vs newer cards, and
b) not be as SMOOTH overall

Yes, asynchronous compute methods and supported software helps reduce STUTTERING.

There are a few other reasons:
a) RX-480 will have better VR support than GTX970
b) more VRAM with 8GB model (8GB vs 3.5GB fast memory)
c) better high-end monitor support (HDR, high bandwidth)

Summary:
Overall the GTX970 is a great card still. No doubt, so most of this boils down to future proofing. The RX-480 will improve relative to the GTX970 as time goes on in terms of DX12, VR and the memory capacity.

Thank you for all your answers. The evga is 344 and the msi is 329 euros.

I cant really get the 1060s cause they are 40 euros more expensive and im alredy over my budget. Im not gonna be playing intense game i mostly play cs go on my shitty laptop.

Everybody says the msi is better so idk.
