Is my intel 6700k ~42C idle temp normal?

I was wondering if ~42C idle temp is too high for a stock speed 6700k. I'm just a bit worried because I put quite a bit of force on my cpu socket when installing my cooler but I after double checked the socket and cpu and it all looked fine.

I'm running a msi gaming m7 motherboard with 16 gbs of ddr4 ram (xmp profile of 3000 Mhz).

My room temperature is about 22C.

My case is a fractal R5 with the 2 stock fans running at medium speed (using the stock fan controller).

My cpu cooler is a Cooler master 212 evo.

My PC on idle for 30 mins:

Also forgot to mention, I'm using the cpu's dedicated graphics (not sure if that really makes a difference).

Solution
Thanks for the suggestions everyone but my high temps were surprisingly due to windows update. I didn't notice at first but it was running in the background checking for updates(coming from fresh windows 7 install) while eating away at my ram and cpu. I stopped the service and my temps showed 28-29C. Totally forgot windows checking for updates can take +8 hours if you don't manually install them yourself; thanks windows.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

I'm using a cooler master 212 evo as my cpu cooler. In my post I was talking about how I was using the 2 fractal r5 stock case fans with the included fan controller (comes with the case) on the medium setting:

Also check bios settings. I have mine set to be silent when under 45c so it stays about 42c at all times but it's quiet. You may have something similar. Idle temps don't mean much check it under load and check for fan profiles under bios if that worries you
