Just FYI, but even if your motherboard socket supports a different Intel version (like an i7) there is no guarantee it will work. The motherboard BIOS must also allow it too.
If you want better CPU performance then the ONLY way is to swap for a compatible, Intel CPU.
*The motherboard itself should have a "CPU support" list if interested but it'a a pretty old computer so you'd be looking for a used quad-core CPU.
(If you have a 4-core CPU already then upgrading isn't likely going to help much).
Other:
*Depending on the PURPOSE of this, putting in an SSD or graphics card may serve you better.
**When W10 was still free, I helped a huge number of people to put in a cheap SSD and do a clean install of W10 which helped some of them drastically improve performance.
