Asus Maximus Hero Viii and Asus Maximus Hero Viii Whetstone

I came here to ask just this question. It seems to me that the Whetstone has nothing really to do with the board, but instead is an ASUS ROG "sponsored" mouse pad that I assume just ships with the Hero VIII, but I haven't been able to confirm due to google not having much for me.

I can Confirm the fact that it must just be the mouse pad included in the box. I'm helping a friend build a pc with this board and have issues with it. When it came to look up the board its self i can't find anything special about the hero 8 whetstone. thus it must just be the included mouse pad which in deed was in the box and was quite nice. but the board doesn't work... so there is that.
