I know it's old but I need a laptop for my online class asap. As my other laptop is broken atm and I only have a budget of $140. I found one on eBay for $99.99 + free shipping.
It's a Windows 7 pro but it doesn't say what cpu it has and has 3 gb ram.

Was wondering if I install two crucial Rams, one 4 gb pc3 8500 1066 ddr3 and one just like it but at 2gb, will this work?
I heard you'll have the blue screen of death with windoz 7 if you don't have same ram like 2x 4gb for 8gb.

Hi,
According to this website https://support.lenovo.com/ca/en/documents/pd005598 what you are suggesting will work, but the question is what OS installed on, I mean is it 64bit or 32bit. In case it was 32-bit then the 8gb wont work as the windows wont see them.
Windows 32-bit supports up to 3GB (According to the website), and for 8-GB you will need windows 64bit.

To my knowledge blue screen will appear only if they are different in specs (Like having different speed one is 1066 while the other is more or less) not memory space, as you can see systems with 6 & 12GB ram without any issues.

Different frequency will work without problems , both will work at the lower clock
