I want to run a website from my house. I bought a google domain and I need some help figuring out how to route traffic for www.mydomain.info to my home IP address.

I know I'll have to do some port forwarding (port 80 right?).

I also know I have a dynamic IP address, so I'll need to set up a dynamic DNS service. Can I do this through google?

I just want to host a basic web site with my portfolio on it.

Thanks!

Most registration sites have a method to dynamically update the domain mapping, that tend to be the easy part.

I suspect a larger question is should you even attempt to do this with your current knowledge level. Getting a web serer up is easy but do you have the abilities to configure it so bad individuals on the internet can not take it over and use it for illegal purposes. This also tends to be why many ISP prevent you from using port 80, way to many people that think they know what they are doing and the ISP then has to deal with all the abuse reports.

It tends to be simpler to just use hosting services. If you are not running large amounts of data they are very inexpensive. There were some that used to be free if you let...

There were some that used to be free if you let them inject a small add into your web page. The hosting service has firewalls and other methods to prevent bad individuals and you can just worry about the content.
