I have a cheap USB that worked fine until a few days ago

Now the USB is write protect and when I plug it into my laptop it says that it needs to be formatted, but it fails the format every time

I tried using diskpart, aomei partition assistant, a few USB formatting tools, force formatting tools, corrupt USB fixers, and changed write protection in the registry and none of them worked.

Is there a way to take write protection off or just format it?

Thanks in advance

Hey there, Rad19er.

I'd say that this flash drive is done for. Basically you've tried all the viable options. Sometimes when flash drives and SD cards fail, they just lock themselves up like this and there's nothing you can do about it. You could try everything you've already mentioned with a different computer as well, just to make sure that it's gone for good.

Hope that helps.
