Hello! I just wan't to share with you my fix to bad gtx 1070 performance.

As many of you, I also had low gpu usage with gtx 1070 (Gigabyte Gaming G1) and very low fps in games where one of best graphics cards should be crushing it with ease.
Well, for three weeks I'm trying to find a solution, and yesterday, I did.
It wasn't softare related.
It wasn't my i5-6500 cpu bottleneck.
It was my RAM.

Kingston HyperX Fury 8gb 2666Mhz DDR4 (x1)

I did a UserBenchmark test and noticed that my ram's megabytes per second speed is very low, around 6GB/s (read and write), so I did a classic slot change, BIOS update, ram OC, DC, this and that, and yesterday I borrowed from a friend Crucial Ballistix 8Gb 2400Mhz ram, and when I installed it and did the same test again it showed a speed of 17GB/s. Results in Aida64 were also good.

Then I started GTA V. With MSI Afterburner I monitored Gpu and Cpu usage, and it was clear at first seconds that everything is as it should've been in the first place. GPU usage was up, Cpu was down. Benchmark was almost 100% better in Fps.
Fallout 4, NFS, BF4, Batman, RoTR.. every game was now running just fine, with MASSIVE FPS GAIN! No more fps dips, low gpu usage, cpu at 100%, etc.
Gpu usage was good, and cpu wasn't near 100% (except for a maybe couple of times for just a ms).

So, If you are having same issue as me, try other ram. Hope this helps with some of you.

I'm going to test my Kingston HyperX to see if it's faulty module or it's some kind of Kingston+Pascal issue. Thank you for reading.

I posted a thread b4, only one answer said that it is cpu-bottleneck and he said he had the same problem as well.
I have a i5-4590 with 8GB 1600 kingston ram.
Sorry for hijacking this post :(

:( try this:

Please navigate to NVIDIA control panel Manage 3D settings Global settings, make the following changes

• Power management mode – prefer maximum performance
• Threaded optimization – off
• Triple buffering – off
• Vertical sync – off
• Maximum pre rendered frames – 3
