I had the mobo and cpu installed in the store, I put in the psu and ram myself, put in a hdd from my old pc expecting it not to work but ready for a fresh install with the installation disk at hand.

My monitor just stays black. I took it to the living room to my hdtv the thing said "no signal" at first so i tried rienstalling the ram and making sure all the cables were good. After a few tries the asus page loaded and another page loaded as well but now it's back to showing "no signal" on the screen.

If i power it off completely it says "no cable detected".

Power and 4 pin thing is connected, I've made sure it's not the pci cable in there.

I tried different dimm's and sata connectors.

Please help.

Edit: i first connected it to my old dell monitor using vga, now it's connected to my hdtv using hdmi.

How much RAM is in the system? If your installing Win7 32-bit its only going to recognize 4gb max.

Is the system booting up correctly now? If its still unstable you may need to update the BIOS & motherboard drivers.

For Win7 Asus recommends following there installation guide and "Asus EZ Installer" for Win7.

Here is the download page for the manual.

It's working now. I don't know what i did but now it works.

I tried installing win7 but it's looking for a driver. My old hdd does boot, it asks me if I want to go into windows or go into startup recovery, I tried the first option a few times but as soon as it goes into the win 7 loading page it goes black and loops into the asus loading screen with the option to go into uefi bios.

I've tried it on startup repair to see what that does.

EDIT: It's an asus b150m-a with an intel i-5 6500 cpu. I'm trying to install win7 sp1 32 bit (via usb) on it which is the only working copy I have, has worked on three older pc's in the past.

I burned a win7 64bit on my laptop using free iso burner, it said it was incomplete but the installl worked fine and I'm using it now just allowing the asus cd to install all the drivers and stuff.

As long as your able to install & use the 64-bit version of Windows 7 then you can utilize all 8gb of RAM. And the Asus CD should contain the majority of drivers needed but once its done and if there's still issues then you might need to update the BIOS but don't update unless your having issues as on the rare occasion upgrading the BIOS can actually render your MB useless.

Thank you. The cd sorted everything out.
