GeForce GTX 1060 vs. GeForce GTX 970. Which one is better ?

Hello Everyone!

I am going to build a gaming PC. But I am debating on the GPU. Both are similarly priced in my country. So what do you think?

I have a 1060 it is sweet... The 980 and the 980 TI are more high end even the 970 the numbers are confusing.

If you are upgrading it is relative... I mean my old card was a 670 GTX and well this 1060 SMOKES IT!!!

980 the 980 ti is faster :D
and for the 1060 its about as fast as a 780ti so in between the 970 and 980 as said and overclocks fine

too late... I saw an MSI 1060 Gamer X at Fry's and bought it... last one too... these things are selling like hotcakes!!! :D

As to speed I have read it is just under then 980 TI.... performance wise...

my old card was a 670GTX so this thing smokes my old card... yeah the 980TI is pretty nice, but I think that is because it is a TI card and that is the high end. i get confused with the difference between the models sometimes...

based on that one site the processor is just under the low end 980.... which is probably a negligible difference. However being a 1000 series I am sure there are upsides also. However it seems that the 100 series are made to be more cost efficient, which is confusing considering the 900s are a lower number. (shrugs) mosto f the 900s are more than I care to pay for a videocard and the 1060 is way more than enough of an upgrade for me.

Even another 670GTX is better than what I had as I could SLI them.... so the 1060 no matter what is better. I will say Nvidias numbering system is confusing... :p

As I write this I am installing Witcher III as I could barly run it before... I want to open this beast up! :)
