Bought a used i7-4790 and the benchmark results seem a bit low?

CPU - i7-4790

Idle 38ºC
Benchmark max 53ºC

GPU - Gigabyte 290X OC Windforce

Idle 45ºC
Benchmark max 83ºC

It doesn't seem to be a temperature issue but when comparing these results to others they seem to fall short

Looks fine mate , heaven can be temperamental as a bench because those scene swaps drop fps to 0 for a fraction of a second & that counts towards the final score.

I've done 3 runs before & had 3 different scores with near 100 difference bottom to top.

Is it though? 290Xs are known to run very hot

Yeah, I agree with Matt, your score looks fine in 3dmark.

You even got a way physics higher score than my 4790k: http://www.3dmark.com/fs/8768132
... even though I have a faster CPU and RAM than you.... hmmm...
