Hello, I recently have purchased myself a 1070. I plan to get a 1440p monitor, I can spend up to about £500 but is it really worth getting the game sync monitors at 144hz since the card can't even reach those frames?

Need some help finding a monitor basically!

Thanks :)

It should last - it will be just about tweaking settings. You should never have to turn it down to 1080p but you might have to play certain games in medium instead of ultra. Again, I...

First, at 1070 will easily reach over 100fps in many games. I have a GTX 980 and play Overwatch in Medium settings and easily hit 120FPS.

The Acer XB270HU is IMO the opinion the best 1440p gaming monitor on the market!

144 FPS @ 1440p wouldn't be easy to achieve. What size of monitor do you prefer to play on? If you prefer 22-24" screens, then I would suggest getting a 1080p instead. Then your GTX 1070 would be able to get 100+ FPS. Personally, it's hard for me to distinguish a game running at 1080p vs 1440p. But I can clearly see the difference between 60 FPS and 144 FPS in games. It's just me though, you should see for yourself to be sure.

What games wouldn't be easy to achieve this? I have that monitor and use a GTX 980 and get over 100fps in many of the games I play. Dota 2, Overwatch, etc. Some games you will need to turn down the settings from ultra but G-Sync makes the experience great for games I can't get high frame rates in like The Witcher 3 and GTA 5.

I didnt really want a 1080p as it may be a decent standard now, but I feel it's pointless getting a gtx 1070 for just 1080p gaming, I can always turn the resolution down to 1080p on a 1440p monitor and I know it won't look as good but it's a last resort if I need to.

As for the monitor you suggested RonRave, I have been looking at that as it's just about my price range and has given sync, which is apparently a very good bonus to have :) do you reckon a gtx 1070 will last about 2 years ish on high-ultra settings? I mean I can always sli I guess!
