Hi today i replaced my gt 620 by a 960 , and my 300w by a 550w and i had no problems with other components before the switch at all , now when i installed the new stuff the pc would start up and then would have a black screen with a flashing underscore, i tried to fix it myself , looking around the forum , from what i understand , i am having a memory (ram) issue because i had multiple long beeps , and bios wont startup , it would get stuck on "loading bios setup" , then the black screen happens , Please help me out i really want this fixed , Yes i had someone else check my PC if stuff was connect the right way (tech shop nearby , he even said it could be ram , he said to switch ur rams from spot to another spot see if it works etc and set a date on ur bios to now , but bios wont start)
So here i am , help me out please ;)

Extra info ; This was a prebuilt pc for a year then i changed HDD it has been a few years now

1| Can you please pass on the make and model of the upgrades that you'd popped into your prebuilt?

2| Can you try and reuse the GT620 and 300W PSU and see if the issue is alleviated? If so then you're either going through a grounding issue or you may have fired one of your components but if you can get display then it means your GPU is intact.

3| You seem to be running off a B85 chipset board which should have a display output for the iGPU. Connect off of it while the dedicated GPU is plugged in to see if your make any progress.

4| It's always advised that you remove your old drivers before you pop out the old GPU.

5| What do you mean by
THE POWER SUPPLY cable had not enuf plugs , so i had to improvise
?

1 GTX 960 4GD5T OC / Corsair VS550 550WAT
2 i dont really wanna do that , i can assure that the parts seem to be shipped safely when unboxed , and the old parts are really old , i dont think i can get them in either , the new ones took me ages , and this was my first time doing it , so i had someone else check after installation aswell
3 What ? i dont understand
4 I have done that
5 Well I had problem getting enough plugs from my power supply on a certain cable , it would be too far if i used 2 flat plugs and then one on the dvd driver, had the guy from the electronic store (who i always go to) let it check out , and he helped me out getting the HDD and the other important stuff in (not sure what , he said i forgot to plug in something) ,so i typed here "not enough" , the cable just wont reach ...

appreciate for the answer ,i ve been sitting on my laptop waiting for someone to reply
i regret ;( im bored as hell

I meant the motherboard's chipset is based off an Intel B85 chipset. Unless you revert to your old prebuilts setup there is no way of telling if you made a mistake in connecting the components and/or an imbalance in power delivery might've caused damage to your system. It will also indicate that your old system works as is perfectly well. You may find it in your best interest to follow the guide linked below, since you're having trouble explaining things to us.

We also have a saying the most common answer to the question, how do I do this? is you don't.

You should stop compounding the issue by buying more hardware which in essence you're unaware of it's compatibility with your system. Don't buy ram instead see if you can borrow ram from your friends but in retrospect, what did your old rams do wrong?
