Hi guys, I have a Compaq PC (CQ5600f) http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c02481299 and I was just wondering if these components are compatible.

PSU:

EVGA 430 W1 80+

https://www.amazon.com/Continuous-Power-Warranty-Supply-100-W1-0430-KR/dp/B00H33SDR4?ie=UTF8&SubscriptionId=AKIAJMPUPDNYIYT5HIWA&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B00H33SDR4&linkCode=xm2&psc=1&tag=pcspecs-20

or

EVGA 500 W1 80+

https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00H33SFJU/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new

(Can't decide between the two)

GPU:

EVGA GeForce GT 740 Superclocked 04G-P4-2744-KR

https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Superclocked-Graphics-04G-P4-2744-KR/dp/B00KJGYOBQ?ie=UTF8&SubscriptionId=AKIAJMPUPDNYIYT5HIWA&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B00KJGYOBQ&linkCode=xm2&psc=1&tag=pcspecs-20

CPU:

(If I can even find one...)

AMD Phenom II X4 B70

http://www.pc-specs.com/cpu/AMD/Phenom_II/Phenom_II_X4_B70/2231

Now according to PC specs and PCPartPicker, these parts are all compatible with this motherboard but I still would like a second opinion in case those sites are just taking wild guesses.

I should also mention that I currently have an AMD Phenom x3 8550 and 4GB of DDR2 (800mhz) Ram in the system as I upgraded it a long time ago. But I just want to upgrade it again for the heck of it. I mean I'm not planning on playing AAA titles on this machine, as I know it wouldn't be possible. But I just want to use it for basic 3D rendering, faster web browsing and light gaming like CS:GO, older Call of Duty titles, etc.

So please, let me know if it's possible to do so, or if it's even worth it. Thanks in advance!

Ok totally understand. The 740 will work for you, or the AMD they generally are pretty compatible, and that one is faster and newer. No reason to be afraid of bottlenecking, even if it does it won't be so huge that it will cause playability issues. People make it out to be far worse than it really is in many cases.

Those will work, however on the PSU side if you can get your hands on the EVGA 500B or 600B its far better quality. The 600B wattage is way more than you need but sometimes its on sale really cheap.

As for the GPU $100 is a lot for something so weak, for around the same price you can get a GTX 750ti or AMD R7 360.

Thank you for the reply!

Yes, I know it's a weak GPU, however I don't want to get anything too powerful as I'm afraid of bottlenecking. Plus I've also heard of compatibility issues with the 750ti on this particular motherboard. So I'm kinda keeping my expectations a bit low right now. :)
